Update: Licensing Direct™ receives reply from Spin Direct regarding initial Innovation Direct™ package; company to send their version of NDA for review…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with an update on a situation we’d just reported on yesterday (http://licensingdirect.com/blog/?p=1114). Earlier Friday, the Licensing Direct™ representative managing the Innovation Direct™ account of Canada-based Spin Direct received a reply to his e-mail requesting an update on the company’s impressions of their initial package of invention information. As per the communication received, the Spin Direct representative expressed a desire to see the detailed design information on all 7 concepts sent in the group, as he did not want to take a chance on missing any potentially good items.

This led to the deliberation of signing a “permanent” version of an NDA that would allow for Licensing Direct™ to send Spin Direct access to the detailed design information from the onset on the inventions selected to be sent to them. The Spin Direct representative, in a subsequent e-mail, explained that he would be glad to provide Licensing Direct™ with a copy of his company’s NDA, as this would be the one that we would be able to work with in that regard. Our aforementioned colleague requested that he e-mail the document as soon as possible so that we could determine if its terms would be amenable to the protection of the product ideas on our roster.

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in one final time to wrap up another eventful week. Late Friday afternoon, the Licensing Direct™ representative managing the Innovation Direct™ account of Texas-based Exceptional Products, Inc. received a reply to his follow-up e-mail to the company from earlier in the week in the form of the signed non-disclosure agreement encompassing 5 inventions that his communication had asked about. We had last reported on this company in a July 29th entry (http://licensingdirect.com/blog/?p=1108).

With the signed guarantee of confidentiality in hand, our aforementioned colleague will provide Exceptional Products with access to all of the detailed design information on the 5 concepts first thing Monday morning. Update: Licensing Direct™ sends follow-up e-mail to CD3, Inc. regarding pending Innovation Direct™-related communication…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with the latest on a situation we’d just reported on in a July 28th entry (http://licensingdirect.com/blog/?p=1103). Earlier Friday, the Licensing Direct™ representative expected to manage the Innovation Direct™ account of Texas-based CD 3, Inc. should they enter the program sent a follow-up e-mail to the gentleman that had been identified by a colleague of his as the point of contact for new product idea submissions to CD 3. The CD3 representative had been expected to send a communication to Licensing Direct™ detailing the company’s confidentiality policies and category preferences.

With a few days having passed since the initial interaction with the company, our colleague felt it would be prudent to follow up at this point in time. The e-mail sent Friday afternoon requested that the CD 3 contact get back with us as soon as possible regarding the matter.

Update: Licensing Direct™ prepares, sends 5 invention Innovation Direct™ package to Heckmann Building Products…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with our latest report. Earlier Friday, the Licensing Direct™ representative managing the Innovation Direct™ account of Illinois-based CSI Show 2009 exhibitor Heckmann Building Products, Inc. prepared and sent his contact at the company preliminary, non-confidential information on 5 inventions from our database as their initial package to review. We had just reported on this company in a July 29th posting (http://licensingdirect.com/blog/?p=1110).

As we’d explained in the entry, Heckmann had expressed a desired to review product ideas that could conceivably be fabricated from metal and ideally, that would fall into the masonry category. The 5 concepts that information was sent on did partially meet this criteria, but also included other construction-related items that fell somewhat outside those specifications.

We are looking forward to receiving prompt and positive feedback from our contact and will certainly bring you the details of any reply, here on the Licensing Direct™ Blog. Stop in often!

Update: Licensing Direct™ sends executed NDA to ITW Space Bag; fully signed copy will initiate creation of initial Innovation Direct™ package…

Greetings, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, back in with another update. Earlier Friday, the Licensing Direct™ representative that will manage the Innovation Direct™ account of California-based ITW Space Bag faxed back a signed copy of the company’s version of an NDA that will serve as a permanent agreement of confidentiality between our companies to his contact. This process had been discussed and agreed upon during the introductory call our colleague had with Space Bag’s representative on July 23rd (http://licensingdirect.com/blog/?p=1084).

Once the company contact returns a fully executed copy of the agreement, our colleague will begin preparations on Space Bag’s initial Innovation Direct™ package. With the NDA in place, he will be able to immediately provide Space Bag with access to the detailed design information on each invention he elects to send them.

Licensing Direct™ receives reply of interest to Innovation Direct™ e-mail from Texas-based National Hardware Show 2009 exhibitor Forever Gifts, Inc.; initial package of inventions to be put together soon…

Happy Friday, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with our first update of the day. Earlier Friday, Licensing Direct™ received a reply of interest from Forever Gifts, Inc. to an e-mail they had received regarding the Innovation Direct™ program. Forever Gifts, Inc. is a Texas-based company that had been an exhibitor at last May’s National Hardware Show 2009, and that was one of the manufacturers targeted in the Innovation Direct™ e-mail blast of July 19th (http://licensingdirect.com/blog/?p=1064).

The company representative explained that they would be interested in reviewing any decorative garden products. As per their official website, Forever Gifts has been manufacturing and marketing their own products for over 23 years, and has a factory overseas.
