Update: Licensing Direct™ begins invention search for initial Innovation Direct™ package to be sent to Illinois-based company…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with an update on a situation we had just reported on in a November 26th entry (“Update: Licensing Direct™ set to welcome Illinois-based home and office products manufacturer into Innovation Direct™ program; initial package to be sent within days…“). We are pleased to report that earlier Friday, the Licensing Direct™ representative that will be managing the Innovation Direct™ account of the company that was the subject of that e-mail began his searches through the Licensing Direct™ database for inventions to include in their initial package.

Up to this point, 8 product ideas have already been pre-selected, in both the home and office organization categories. The initial batch of concepts to be sent could be as large as 15 or 20 pending the outcome of a conversation with the company contact that should take place at some point on Monday.

Update: Licensing Direct™ set to welcome Illinois-based home and office products manufacturer into Innovation Direct™ program; initial package to be sent within days…

Good afternoon, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, back once again with another report. We are pleased to note that we will be officially welcoming yet another new company into our Innovation Direct™ program within the coming days. The manufacturer, which is headquartered in Illinois and has been in business for 25 years, was a fellow exhibitor of Licensing Direct™’s at the International Home and Housewares Show this past March. We had reported on our Innovation Direct™ recruitment campaign with these fellow exhibitors in a November 13th posting (“Licensing Direct™ attempting to recruit multiple fellow exhibitors from International Home and Housewares Show for Innovation Direct™ program…“).

The company welcomes invention ideas from external sources and has an Outside Submission Agreement posted on their website that governs the confidentiality they are willing to extend. Licensing Direct™ has already reviewed the terms of the document and found them to be more than adequate in protecting the design details of our inventors’ product ideas. Consequently, searches through the Licensing Direct™ database for the initial batch of concepts that will be sent to the company will begin this afternoon and the package as a whole should go out early next week at the latest.

Licensing Direct™ inventor’s children’s product subject of initial interest from Australian manufacturer; non-disclosure agreement sent…

Good afternoon, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with some positive news regarding an Licensing Direct™ inventor product idea garnering interest from a company. On this occasion, the invention is a stuffed animal invention that has captured the eye of an Australian manufacturer of children’s toys and products. The company had recently received preliminary, non-confidential information about the concept and had found it to be sufficiently intriguing to request more details about it. Consequently, earlier Wednesday, the Licensing Direct™ representative managing their interest sent the company contact a non-disclosure agreement that once signed, will allow Licensing Direct™ to provide them with access to all of the detailed design information available on the invention.

As per their official website, the company is currently commemorating their 20th year in business and has extensive retail distribution channels through both Australia and New Zealand. We are certainly enthused by the potential this manufacturer would appear to offer and will bring you the details as this situation evolves, here on the Licensing Direct™ Blog. Check back in often!

Update: Licensing Direct™ seeks initial feedback from New York-based kitchen products company on 9 invention Innovation Direct™ package…

Good afternoon, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, chiming in with another update regarding a company in our Innovation Direct™ program. Earlier Tuesday, the Licensing Direct™ representative managing the Innovation Direct™ account of a New York-based kitchen products company sent a follow-up e-mail to his contact regarding the initial batch of preliminary, non-confidential information sent to him on 9 product ideas a little over a week ago. We had reported on this situation in a November 17th entry (“Update: Licensing Direct™ finalizes and sends initial Innovation Direct™ package to International Home and Housewares Show kitchen products company…“).

Update: Licensing Direct™ attempts to obtain long overdue feedback from California-based infomercial company regarding initial Innovation Direct™ package…

Good day, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with our first update for a Tuesday. Earlier this morning, the Licensing Direct™ representative managing the Innovation Direct™ account of a California-based infomercial company made yet another attempt to obtain long overdue feedback from the firm’s president regarding the preliminary, non-confidential information on 15 product ideas they’d been sent back in April. We have reported several times on this situation over the months following the sending of the materials, most recently in an August 19th entry (“Update: Licensing Direct™ checks in with California-based infomercial outfit regarding information on 15 inventions sent in initial Innovation Direct™ package; feedback from company’s CEO expected soon…“).

In that posting, we had explained that the company’s CEO would be our new contact as a result of the original point person we had been dealing with no longer being employed there. We had felt that feedback would be imminent at the time of the posting, but even with another follow-up having been attempted on October 16th, we still have not received the company’s impressions. As a result, the aforementioned Licensing Direct™ representative felt that it would be prudent to send an e-mail at this time requesting an update.

We are certainly hopeful that we will finally obtain this company’s impressions on the 15 items, but only time will tell. The Licensing Direct™ Blog will be the place for all updates to this situation, so check in frequently!

Update: Licensing Direct™ conducts dual follow-up on behalf of cleaning accessory inventor…

Good evening, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking back in with one final report for a busy Monday. Earlier this afternoon, an Licensing Direct™ representative performed an e-mail follow-up with two manufacturers that had recently received detailed design information on a cleaning accessory from our roster. The correspondence was put together at the inventor’s request, and was done in addition to another follow-up letter that had already been sent in the case of one of the companies, and in anticipation of one that will shortly be sent in the case of the other.

The first manufacturer is a California-based outfit that signed a version of their Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement in order to review the details of the concept in mid-September. We had reported on our initial follow-up efforts with this company in an October 13th entry (“Update: Licensing Direct™ sends follow-up correspondence to California-based company regarding detailed design information on cleaning accessory…“).

The second company meanwhile, is a Michigan-based manufacturing and marketing leader of household products that received access to the detailed design information on the concept late last month. We had reported on this matter in an October 28th posting (“Licensing Direct™ sends detailed information on cleaning accessory to Michigan-based household products company…“).

Update: Licensing Direct™ receives feedback from California-based automotive products company on latest Innovation Direct™ package sent…

Good afternoon, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking back in with another Innovation Direct™-related update. Very late Friday afternoon, the Licensing Direct™ representative managing the Innovation Direct™ account of a California-based automotive products manufacturer received feedback from his contact at the company regarding the latest batch of 10 product ideas sent to them. We had most recently reported on this situation in a November 10th entry (“Update: Licensing Direct™ performs follow-up with California-based automotive products Innovation Direct™ company regarding latest invention information sent…“).

As we’d explained in that posting, the company contact had agreed to get back to us last week at some point with his impressions of the detailed design information for each of the 10 concepts. As per the e-mail communication received late Friday, the company will not be pursuing any of the product ideas any further but as always, welcomes another group of inventions to review in the coming weeks.

Update: Licensing Direct™ receives feedback from inventor of baby product regarding detailed drawings being prepared…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking with another update on a busy Monday. In a November 19th entry (“Update: Licensing Direct™ attempts follow-up with Las Vegas-based Innovation Direct™ company regarding 9 inventions under review…“), we had reported on our efforts in obtaining an update from the inventor of a baby accessory from the Licensing Direct™ roster regarding detailed drawings of her concept that she was having a personal contact prepare. The drawings had been requested by a company that had signed an exclusive developmental agreement for the product idea, a development that we had reported on in a November 3rd posting (“Update: Licensing Direct™ successfully negotiates exclusive developmental licensing agreement for baby accessory with New Jersey-based company…“).

As per the communication received from the inventor, she expects the drawings to be completed this week. Once we have the materials in hand, we will be forwarding them to our West Coast-based industry partner, through which the agreement was negotiated. The company will then use the visuals to attempt to obtain production cost estimates as part of their due diligence on the invention during the developmental period.

We begin with an update on a situation we had just reported on extensively on Friday (“Update: Licensing Direct™ receives feedback from Innovation Direct™ lawn and garden products company regarding initial package; 3 inventions subject of further interest, non-disclosure agreement sent…“). We are pleased to report that we have received a signed non-disclosure agreement from the manufacturer that was the subject of that entry, and that as a result, access to the detailed design information has been sent to the company president on the 3 lawn and garden product ideas from their initial Innovation Direct™ package they’d expressed an advanced level of interest in.

We now await the manufacturer’s impressions which if recent history is any indicator, will be rather prompt. We will certainly divulge all of the details of their feedback once we have it, here on the Licensing Direct™ Blog. Check in often!
