Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with an update regarding our follow-up efforts regarding a protective clothing invention from our roster. Earlier Friday, Licensing Direct™ sent a Massachusetts-based manufacturer a follow-up letter and second copy of a non-disclosure agreement regarding a protective clothing invention that they had expressed an initial interest in at the very beginning of the month. With a month having passed since the non-disclosure agreement was sent to the company for signature, the Licensing Direct™ representative managing the situation since the onset thought it would be prudent to send the follow-up communication. Update: Licensing Direct™ set for pivotal conference call next week with potential licensee of bedding product…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with an update on a situation we had last reported on in a July 14th entry (“Update: Licensing Direct™ conducts successful conference call with Florida-based manufacturer and inventor…“). We are pleased to report that a conference call between Licensing Direct™, the inventor of a bedding product from our roster, and a Florida-based manufacturer that has long expressed interest in the idea will take place on a yet-to-be determined day next week regarding a possible long-term licensing agreement.

As we’d explained in the aforementioned posting, the company had provided both the inventor and Licensing Direct™ with an extensive update at that point regarding their ongoing efforts to research the potential of the invention and various aspects surrounding it, such as production costs. In a telephone follow-up that was conducted today by the Licensing Direct™ representative that has been managing this situation since the onset, the company principal explained that he had another important update to provide next week and also wanted to begin discussing the royalty rates that would be a part of a long-term licensing agreement he would presumably be willing to sign for the invention.

Licensing Direct™ inventor’s baby product idea subject of advanced level of interest from New Jersey-based manufacturer…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with some positive news regarding an Licensing Direct™ inventor’s baby invention. Earlier Wednesday, we received word from our West Coast-based industry partner that a New Jersey-based baby and toy products company he regularly does business with has expressed an advanced level of interest in the aforementioned product idea. The Licensing Direct™ representative managing our West Coast industry partner’s Innovation Direct™ account had sent information on this invention to him during a recent search for baby-related items conducted last week that was prompted by an upcoming meeting he has with a separate, major children’s products company. We had mentioned that search within an October 23rd entry (“Update: Licensing Direct™ inventors’ baby-related concepts to be potentially included in meeting with globally renowned children’s products company…“).

As per the communication received from our industry partner, the company, which also boasts offices in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom, has requested a prototype be sent to them for further evaluation. The inventor has already been contacted about this matter, and has expressed the ability to have someone put a sample of her product together fairly quickly, which should bode well for the invention’s chances.

Licensing Direct™ sends 9 outdoor inventions to industry partner upon request…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with our latest update regarding an Innovation Direct™ package being sent to our West Coast-based industry partner. Earlier Wednesday, our colleague had informed us that he had a request pending from one of the companies he regularly does business with for patio and beach-related inventions. Accordingly, the Licensing Direct™ representative that normally manages our partner’s Innovation Direct™ account promptly searched the Licensing Direct™ database and was able to send him detailed design information on 9 inventions in total later in the day.

Because all of the available information has already been sent, we expect to receive prompt feedback from our industry partner on this batch of concepts. As soon as we do have any details on his impressions we will divulge them, here on the Licensing Direct™ Blog. Check back often!

Earlier Tuesday, the inventor of a cleaning accessory from our roster provided Licensing Direct™ with a signed copy of a Release Form that a Michigan-based household products company had requested he sign before they viewed detailed design information on his invention. The inventor, who has obtained patent pending status on his concept, authorized Licensing Direct™ to provide the manufacturer with detailed design information for the product idea.

Update: Licensing Direct™ sends new 5 invention Innovation Direct™ package to Ohio-based kitchen products company…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with an update on an Ohio-based Innovation Direct™ company that we had most recently reported on in an August 21st entry (“Update: Licensing Direct™ receives update from Ohio-based Innovation Direct™ company regarding 3 inventions under review…“). As we’d explained in that posting, the manufacturer had just completed a review of the most recent Innovation Direct™ package we had sent them, and were prepared to review more Licensing Direct™ inventor product ideas, even as they opted not to go further with any of the ones contained that batch.

Accordingly, earlier Tuesday, the Licensing Direct™ representative that manages the company’s account put together a new batch of five kitchen-related inventions for their review and forwarded preliminary, non-confidential information on each via e-mail to the company contact. Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, back with another update. Earlier Monday, a follow-up letter and second copy of a non-disclosure agreement regarding a hardware accessory from the Licensing Direct™ roster was sent to an Indiana-based hardware products company that had also been a fellow exhibitor of Licensing Direct™’s at the National Hardware Show back in May. We had initially reported on this situation in an September 23rd entry (“Licensing Direct™ sends preliminary information on shovel invention to National Hardware Show 2008 lead…“).

As we’d explained in that posting, the company had been identified by an Licensing Direct™ representative as a potentially viable candidate for the invention due to their existing product line, and had agreed to review preliminary, non-confidential information on the concept. Accordingly, the Licensing Direct™ representative managing the situation had sent the manufacturer the materials along with a non-disclosure agreement. With over a month having passed since that initial communication, our aforementioned colleague felt it would be prudent to send a follow-up communication in an attempt to prompt the company to return the signed non-disclosure agreement.

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with an update to start off another great week. We are pleased to report that we kicked off our Monday by preparing and sending a new 10 invention Innovation Direct™ package to a California-based automotive products company that we had most recently reported on in an October 21st entry (“Update: Licensing Direct™ receives feedback from California-based automotive products company on latest Innovation Direct™ package…“).

The manufacturer that was the subject of that aforementioned posting had just provided us feedback on the latest batch of Licensing Direct™ inventor product ideas we had sent them. Even though they had no further interest in the items from the group, our contact had emphasized that he was prepared to review a new group of concepts as soon as possible.

As customary, Licensing Direct™ was able to send the manufacturer detailed design information on the inventions in the Innovation Direct™ package due to a permanent non-disclosure agreement that is on file between them and Licensing Direct™. Update: Licensing Direct™ sends follow-up letter to Ohio-based manufacturer regarding detailed design information sent on paint accessory…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with a quick update on Licensing Direct™’s ongoing follow-up efforts on behalf of the inventions we represent. Earlier Friday, a letter requesting an update was sent to our contact at an Ohio-based manufacturer that had signed a non-disclosure agreement for a paint accessory from the Licensing Direct™ roster approximately one month ago, and that we had last reported on in a September 24th entry (“Licensing Direct™ inventor’s paint invention subject of initial interest from Ohio-based coatings manufacturer; non-disclosure agreement sent…“).

As we’d explained in that posting, the company had requested more details on the item after reviewing preliminary, non-confidential information about it, and had been sent a non-disclosure agreement by Licensing Direct™ in response. Two days after the aforementioned entry, the company had returned the guarantee of confidentiality signed and had therefore been furnished with access to detailed design information on the invention at that point.

Update: Licensing Direct™ inventors’ baby-related concepts to be potentially included in meeting with globally renowned children’s products company…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with some potentially great news for 4 Licensing Direct™ inventors’ baby-related product ideas. Earlier Thursday, our often mentioned West Coast-based industry partner explained to us in an e-mail that he would soon be engaged in a high level meeting with a representative of a globally-renowned children’s products company and wanted to know if we had any items in this category that were at least provisionally patented, if not patent pending or fully patented already.

Accordingly, the Licensing Direct™ representative that normally manages our industry partner’s Innovation Direct™ account conducted a search through the Licensing Direct™ database for concepts that matched the stated criteria. In all, 4 items were found and sent in full detail to our industry partner, who is scheduled to have his aforementioned meeting on November 11th.
