Licensing Direct™ is pleased to announce that we will be making our regular fall stop at the ERA D2C Convention, taking place September 21-23 at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. As customary, this year’s proceedings will feature leading companies in the multi-billion dollar direct response and infomercial industries.

The ERA D2C Convention has been an extremely prolific one for Licensing Direct™ in past years, and has allowed our company to establish relationships with industry giants such as Sylmark, Inc., Allstar Marketing Group, LLC, and Hampton Direct, just to name a few. With the direct response industry being so dependent on new product innovations for their core business, it makes perfect sense that this is one of our most successful stops on our trade show itinerary each year!

Licensing Direct™ set to make annual Windy City summer stop for ASI Show Chicago…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with a report on our next exciting trade show event. Licensing Direct™ is proud to announce that we will be making our annual mid-summer trek to the Windy City for the ASI Show Chicago 2010. ASI, the acronym for Advertising Specialty Institute, is the leader in the widely diverse promotional products industry.

As with past years, Licensing Direct™ expects to meet and network with manufacturers and suppliers that offer items such as apparel, outdoor products, household products, personal care products, tools, and many others. The ASI Chicago event has proven to be particularly valuable in the past in terms of our garnering of manufacturer leads, and this 2010 year promises to bring a better show than ever!

The ASI Show Chicago will take place July 14th and 15th at its customary venue, McCormick Place. As per the show’s official website, the proceedings will feature over 700 exhibitors in the categories previously mentioned, along with many others. Licensing Direct™ set to participate in leading trade show of the industry, Licensing International 2010, June 8-10…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with an update on the next stop of our 2010 trade show itinerary. We are pleased to report that we will be returning as a participant to one of the most prominent trade show events in the world, Licensing International, taking place from June 8-10 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Billed as the world’s largest brand licensing marketplace, Licensing International 2010 promises to feature over 7,000 brands and properties of all types, according to the show’s official website. Over the years, Licensing Direct™ has had the opportunity meet such heavyweights as Warner Brothers studios, Sanrio, Sesame Street, Crayola, and Disney at Licensing International, and this year promises to offer these very companies and many more.

 In 2009, it is estimated that Licensing International drew in over 18,000 attendees, including 130 new retail companies. Participants also spanned a total of 98 countries, making this a truly global event. For all of these reasons, Licensing Direct™ is certainly looking forward to walking the show floor and networking with as many companies as possible on behalf of our invention roster.

Licensing Direct™ prepared to attend always dynamic National Hardware Show with Lawn and Garden World, May 4th-6th…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with details on the next stop on our 2010 trade show itinerary. We are pleased to announce that Licensing Direct™ will once again be a participant in one of the most exciting and diverse industry-only trade shows in the U.S., the National Hardware Show with Lawn and Garden World, taking place May 4th-6th at the expansive Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. This will mark the 7th consecutive year that we have participated in some capacity in the event, and we expect that the show will yield the customary plethora of valuable leads in a variety of industries.

In addition to the hardware and lawn and garden components that serve as the show’s namesake, the exhibit also features a section entitled the Homewares Show, which according to the event’s official site, features over 300 exhibitors in and of itself. Over 900 exhibitors are expected in both the Hardware and Lawn and Garden sections as well, and approximately 250 companies apiece in the painting accessories, plumbing and electrical, and storage and organization areas will also be present.

As per the National Hardware Show’s official site, there is an expectation of approximately 27,000 industry professionals attending the proceedings in 2010, making it one of the leading trade show events of the year. Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with the information regarding the next industry-leading trade show event on our 2010 itinerary. We are pleased to report that Licensing Direct™ will attend the 2010 edition of the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show, taking place April 16th-18th at the McCormick Place in Chicago. This year will mark Licensing Direct™’s return to the event after an absence of several years, and we expect that the show will be better than ever!

As per their official website, the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show is the world’s largest international trade show event dedicated to the kitchen and bath industry.  The show features over 1,000 exhibitors in various segments of the kitchen and bath categories, and is widely attended by architects, re-modelers, kitchen and bath retailers and distributors, and plumbing wholesalers and retailers, among others. Professionals flock to this event for a variety of educational conferences in addition to the 3 days of networking and opportunity available on the exhibit floor.

Licensing Direct™ set to make annual stop at International Home and Housewares Show in Chicago on March 14th-16th…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with a report on the next stop on our trade show itinerary. Licensing Direct™ is pleased to announce that we will be participants in the 2010 edition of the International Home and Housewares Show at the McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois. This terrific event has long been a very successful staple of our event calendar, and has yielded several valuable manufacturing leads over the years.

As per their official website, the Housewares Show estimates that this year’s proceedings will attract over 60,000 attendees and over 2,000 exhibitors. In addition, over 6,000 international buyers from 100 countries on 6 continents are  expected. As customary, the show will be divided into 4 major categories: Clean and Contain, Dine and Design, Wired and Well, and an international pavilion entitled Global Crossroads.

This event has long been a particularly beneficial one for inventions in the household, lawn and garden, cleaning, pet, and even automotive and hardware industries, due to the considerable diversity of exhibitors, and we expect this year to be the most successful yet. Update: Licensing Direct™ receives feedback from Trillium Worldwide, Inc. regarding 10 invention Innovation Direct™ package…

Good evening, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with an update on a situation we’d reported on in a February 11th entry (http://licensingdirect.com/blog/?p=1405). Late Monday evening, the Licensing Direct™ representative managing the Innovation Direct™ account of AAPEX Show 2009 exhibitor Trillium Worldwide received an e-mail reply from his contact at the firm regarding the feedback he’d requested on the preliminary, non-confidential information our colleague had recently sent him on 10 inventions from our roster.

As per the communication received Monday evening, the company will not go any further with the 10 inventions. Accordingly, we will continue our quest for licensing success on behalf of those product ideas through other potential licensees and will also soon begin work on Trillium’s next Innovation Direct™ package.

Update: Licensing Direct™ receives report from inventor of pet accessory regarding Cambridge Metal and Plastics…

Good morning, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, back in with an update to begin our week. Earlier Monday, the Licensing Direct™ representative managing the interest displayed by Minnesota-based Cambridge Metal and Plastics in a pet product from our roster received an e-mail update from the inventor regarding the outcome of the company’s review of the detailed design information about the concept. We’d reported on our most recent attempt to follow up with Cambridge directly in a posting this past Friday (http://licensingdirect.com/blog/?p=1414).

As per the communication received from the inventor, she had received an e-mail from the manufacturer representative some time ago letting her know that while he liked the invention overall, the company had opted not to move any further with it. Accordingly, we will continue our quest for licensing success on behalf of this concept through other potential licensees.

Update: Licensing Direct™ sends second follow-up e-mail to Cambridge Metal and Plastics regarding detailed information provided on pet accessory…

Greetings, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking back in with another report. Earlier Friday, the Licensing Direct™ representative managing the interest in a pet accessory from our roster displayed by Minnesota-based Cambridge Metal and Plastics sent a follow-up e-mail to his contact at the firm regarding their pending feedback on the detailed design information they’d been provided about the invention in January. We’d reported on our initial attempt to follow up with Cambridge regarding this product idea in a January 26th entry (http://licensingdirect.com/blog/?p=1362).

As we’d explained previously, the manufacturer had signed a non-disclosure agreement for the concept after having initially been contacted about it by the inventor. With several weeks having passed since the access to the detailed materials were first sent, and over 2 weeks having passed since our first follow-up effort, our aforementioned colleague felt it would be prudent to reach out again at this point.

Update: Licensing Direct™ sends follow-up e-mail to Schutt Sports regarding pending return of non-disclosure agreement…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Licensing Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, chiming in with a Friday update. Earlier Friday, the Licensing Direct™ representative managing the initial interest displayed by Illinois-based Schutt Sports in a football training accessory from our roster sent a follow-up e-mail to his contact at the firm requesting an update on whether or not the company planned on returning the non-disclosure agreement they’d been sent for the invention. We’d initially reported on this situation in a January 14th entry (http://licensingdirect.com/blog/?p=1412).
